Love this!! Such a cool idea to use a spreadsheet to map it all out!

As a person who is naturally disinclined to spreadsheets... it’s really interesting to see how they can be used in such a creative way!

I used to feel exactly the same way until I tried it. I can't imagine writing without it now. Thank you so much!

I like this approach early on! I have a word doc with a chapter plan, and then use a spreadsheet for the big picture edit - but this is an interesting idea to do so early on! My worry would be that I would keep fiddling with it rather than getting going with the writing.... It is definitely something to consider!

I have recently finished a first draft and initially it felt like I experimented to try and find my way through. I thought I would hate plotting and so I resisted but now I love it. I also include the reader experience element having been on a course with Clare Mackintosh. Not one I’d considered before and yet why are we writing if not to hit those sweet spots for readers. Thanks for sharing your process Jodie.

Thanks for reading! I really did think I'd hate plotting, but it has strengthened my writing in every way. Good luck moving forward with your novel!
